INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLEGE

The Mariupol Mechanical Engineering College of the State Higher Educational Institution “Priazov State Technical University” dates back to 1969. It was created as a basic educational institution of a heavy machine-building plant to ensure the production of middle-level management personnel (foreman, foreman, shift chief), as well as to train highly qualified workers for the maintenance of complex metal-cutting, welding, and gas-cutting equipment.

Currently, the Mariupol Mechanical Engineering College is part of the Pryazovsky State Technical University as a separate structural unit. Olha Anatoliivna Piven educational institution heads.

Students are trained on the basis of full general secondary education (term of study 2 years 10 months) and educational qualification level “skilled worker” (graduates of professional lyceums and vocational schools) with term of study 1 year 10 months.

Admission of students to study at the college is carried out in accordance with the Admission Rules, which are developed annually taking into account new trends in education and published on the college website (https://mmpc.com.ua).

Education at the college is conducted in accordance with the Educational and Professional Programs (OPP) of specialties and curricula, which include normative and elective disciplines. The list and content of optional disciplines is agreed with the employer.

The college provides practice-oriented short-cycle education and trains specialists for the real sector of the economy. Students acquire practical skills in college workshops, as well as during educational, industrial, technological and pre-diploma internships at the best enterprises in the region.

The college has a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the right to study in specialties that are in demand on the labor market.

All educational and professional programs of specialties are accredited and have certificates of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which confirm the training of specialists in full compliance with the standards of professional pre-higher education.

The college provides full-time and part-time training for students (without separation from production). Part-time students enjoy the rights and privileges provided by the legislation of Ukraine.

Graduates of the college can continue their studies at the Pryazovsky State Technical University, as well as at other universities of the country on the basis of a college diploma.

The college also has a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for industrial and technical training, retraining and advanced training of personnel in labor professions: welding, machine-building and repair production, information technology, accounting and cash service, administrative activities.

After graduating from the educational institution, graduates of the college receive a professional junior bachelor’s diploma, as well as a certificate of assignment of a worker’s qualification of the corresponding grade. This significantly expands the graduate’s professional mobility and employment opportunities.

The college carries out work of a social nature: it organizes the retraining of the unemployed who are registered with the employment service. Annually, 100-120 former unemployed people receive a labor profession that is in demand on the labor market.

The college is a participant of the “Voucher 45+” state program, according to which, in order to increase competitiveness in the labor market, persons aged 45 and older and with insurance experience of at least 15 years have the right to retraining at the expense of employment service funds.

Since 2018, the college has been organizing training for the staff of city-forming enterprises of Mariupol according to the dual education system, which contributes to meeting the needs of enterprises in operational training (retraining) of personnel.

The educational process at the college is provided by teachers, 70% of whom have the qualifications of a teacher of the highest category and a method teacher. Most teachers have industrial work experience, as well as experience in scientific research work.

The teaching staff possesses advanced pedagogical technologies, possesses digital competence, and widely uses multimedia and computer technology in the educational process.

Students and teachers of the college take an active part in scientific and practical conferences of the State Technical University “PDTU”, the region, All-Ukrainian and International conferences, in regional mastery competitions by specialty.

The college has an appropriate material and technical base, with educational, methodological and information support. There are 30 specialized classrooms, 8 laboratories, 4 educational and production workshops, 2 libraries, and 2 reading rooms in two educational buildings.
